I think Harley owners use a cub engine to start a Harley engine... like a donkey engine.

Oh dear, poor Donkey. Are there any Harley / Cub comparisons? .... Does the Harley have hidden talents too? I've never even sat on one! Or had to pick one up after dropping it lol

I take my C125 up to the local biker cafe on top of mount glorious near Brisbane. It gets a lot of comments and good on yer from the “serious” riders. I parked next my mate Neil with his rocket three. I haven’t taken the c90 up there yet.

Re: Are super cubs welcome??
There is more commonality with owning a Harley and owning a C90 than you'd think.
For example:
1. Both are generally considered overpriced for what they are.
(But those that want one will pay the premium for them.)
2. There is no substitute if you want one enough.
(No matter that there may be "better," bikes for your purpose, only a Harley or a Cub will do.)
3. Both choices are mocked by people that just don't understand.
(This is true of most choices in life, but particularly polarised when applied to Harleys, and Cubs.)

A couple of months ago I went to have a look at the local (defunct) speedway team display of classic JAP and Jawa engined bikes at a pub in Rayleigh. They were starting them up on rollersDevon general andy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2023 8:59 pmI think Harley owners use a cub engine to start a Harley engine... like a donkey engine.
A woman who appeared to be one of the organisers saw my C90 and said "Oh it's a Honda, not a real bike".
I pointed to the Honda motor they needed to start their real bikes.

It's funny how time moves on.. but then out pops- 'a Honda, not a real bike'.
I remember people referring to cars as 'Jap Crap' (not to be confused with JAP... JA prestwich) in the 70s & 80s, but those Datsuns and Mazda's always started on a cold winter morning when Mr Jones was emptying a can of WD40 on his Allegro to get it started.
I used to get ribbed by 'old boys' in the 80s for having a Honda. I can remember a story about my great grandfather in the 70s walking home from the pub 6 miles. He refused a lift from his friend that had got a 'new' car..... a German Volkswagen!!!!!!
Having said all this.... it is a shame what happened to our motorcycle and car industry.
Cheers Andy.

I think that too. But the truth is the more recent UK cars, with one or two exceptions, were badly designed. Compare the Austin Maxi with the VW Golf.Devon general andy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 22, 2023 7:59 am... it is a shame what happened to our motorcycle and car industry.
And the Motorcycles were bad performers. They were heavy, slow and poor on fuel, they handled OK but not well in comparison.
Only good point was you never needed to change the oil because it leaked out quicker than you could top it up.

The Maxi was 5 years earlier than the golf 5 door 5 seater using the doors from the old 1800 landcrab. And the seats made into a double bed. ...

I only mentioned that example because I once had a Maxi ... and replaced it with a Golf. Different years but Big gulf in quality.
