Stiff throttle:-
Sometimes it's the inner metal cable all rusty/ binding and sluggish. Drip WD40 or similar down from top and a lot of 'working' the cable. If no joy I'm afraid.... new cable.
The other issue can be rusty handlebar end. Clean up with scouring pad or if really bad wet and dry sandpaper. Then oil or grease to lubricate. Not too much grease or heavy grade as will cause drag.
Hope this helps,
Andy.

Thanks, will give that a try. Are new cables still available anywhere?

I would have thought if Honda one isn't available then a quality pattern one will suffice.

It's only the brake cable that can be a pain in the neck due to stretch etc that can cause 'spongey' brakes and poor 'feel' at the brake lever.

Not sure what's available where you are?
There's always the internet..... ummm.... sometimes good, sometimes bad.
Andy.
