Hi, I’m new to the club, just bought an 85 C90 purely to go in the back of my motorhome. I had a 70 and a 90 in the 80s as track bikes and had loads of fun. Now my question is : is there a wider rear tyre that fits ? And does it improve or reduce handling ? Also can anyone recommend any stiffer rear shocks, the bike will mostly be used two up and with a combined weight of 30 stone I thought it’d be an idea to stiffen up the back end a bit,
Thanks in advance,
Nobby

Hi a 2,75 rear fits without much fuss and for the shocks a set of CG 125 ones will transform the handling .Our own Davebike can supply the shocks find him in the recommended suppliers Dave Wilkins

I reckon a 2.75 on the rear lasts longer carrying extra weight and handles fine. A previous 2.5 wore out very quickly.

2.5 or 2.75 the rear tyre on a Cub is best considered a sacrificial, inherently disposable, item.bikerbaker wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 10:00 amI reckon a 2.75 on the rear lasts longer carrying extra weight and handles fine. A previous 2.5 wore out very quickly.
