Hello everyone. I owns 1986 Honda C50 LAC. Does anyone know anyone can rebuild engine and auto box. Mines working fine. I just want it rebuild and fresh. I lives in Leeds. I would be happy to drive further.
I remember I saw the advert about rebuilding c50 to c90 in Barnsley. Couldn't find the phone number. Does anyone have their number?
Adrian

Re: Hello. I am new here.
Hi welcome to the club, the lac has some parts that are no longer available so a total rebuild is not always possible .A rebuild would only be crankshaft and cylinder/piston.
The LAC is a moped but not to the current standards and as such is not 16 legal .Fitting a larger engine is a problem as well, DVLA will be a pain and if the bike is still registered as a moped it would restrict roads you can travel on.
Alan Cf rebuilds engines he is on here ,but it may be cheaper to buy a pit bike engine

Re: Hello. I am new here.
If its running fine i,d be tempted to just find another LAC Engine and have that rebuilt as a spare
As mentioned some parts are non longer available.
If it ain't broke dont fix it
If you've the licence for a bigger cc bike the upgrade to 90/110 will make it a much better ride.
Iv'e changed a moped to motorcycle with DVLA in the 1990s without any issues but changing it back would probably be difficult

Thank you for replies.
I was hoping anyone give me phone number of Barnsley rebuilt. I phoned him 2 or so years ago. Now I couldn't find him ( I forget his name) on internet. As long as I remember he put the advert about rebuilt c50 c70 c90 for £125 parts not included on ebay. Hope it might joy your memory.
