Greetings from Kings Lynn

Post by akela nick » Tue Jun 20, 2017 8:56 am

Greetings one and all. I'm new to the world of the C90, well not actually true as I last had one about 32 years ago. So I guess I'm more "born again"? I have just brought the bike as I've signed up for a Lands End to John O'Groats jaunt in September (google Nathan Millward The Garbage Run for a youtube video) and didn't think I should turn up on my Crosstourer... Having picked the bike up yesterday I'm just hoping that it will make it, as I had a job getting to 45mph with just me on it. (117kg so no light weight) So my trip could take quite a while... A friend has said about swapping the barrel, carb and head off a 110cc machine he has in his garage. Has anyone had any experience of this? Any hints and suggestions most welcome.
Nick. :D

Hi! :)

I did the same run on the first one - you'll be fine on a standard C90 pace as long as you don't push it too hard and recognise that everybody's pace will change :)

Just give it a bloody good service before you set off and you'll be fine.

Happy cubbing!

Hi Nick,

Welcome.
Also from Kings Lynn myself!
Give me a shout if you ever fancy a blast.

Thanks Viper that's good to know that I'll be able to keep up as I was getting a little worried. I hope you have good memories of your trip. Hi Phil a ride out sometime would be great. Do you stop off for a brew en route too?

Normally we take the little stove for the brew ups, and some bacon too

Hey Phil, yep it could have been. Only just seen your post as not been on here for a few days (work and house hunting) Now on my 4 days off (do shift work) so hoping for some good weather and fair winds. Have you ever been to the Iron Horse in Market Deeping on a Thursday? As I'm thinking of taking a ride over this week as I've not been for ages. Drop us a text any time 07969927982

regards Nick.
