I do often call AE86 Takumi but I guess with yourself around you've stolen that name, I'm actually quite fond of Inital D.

Most interesting I think is the little Zeus, I think it's from Tokyo shop who modifies Cubs.

I used to have a 1986 AE86 back in the day.



Sold it to an Irish lad back in 1995 when I moved to Hong Kong. Had grand ideas of buying the supercharged variants but that was soon put on hold when I saw how they were going for in HK at the time!.

Tracked it down a few years back and it's still alive:


After living in HK for 6 years, I then moved to the USA and bought a 1995 S14 240SX, we still have it today and it's in great shape.

That is a very smart example GTD, nice to see what looks like a completely unmodified example.

There's been quite a few people ask about the 240SX due to it being totally standard condition (well apart from some part replacements over time).

I thought the 240SX was a better built car than the AE86 but the AE86 was far more fun to drive in Scotland!

He is in Japan, and many of us here on the forum, are just gear heads . I for one, love much of the JDM (Japanese domestic market) machines, whether it be bike or car.

That Toyota 2000 in the picture sure came a long way to Tokyo (from Fukuoka). That's a 3 1/2 - 4 hr. bullet train ride if I remember correctly, though to be fair, I would drive that car everywhere if I had the opportunity to do so...

Bog standard 240s are getting hard to find in the U.S. now, as I'm sure you've found out. I went to an auction years ago where there was a late model S14 with 160,000 miles, motor was smoking badly but clean otherwise and completely stock. I casted a bid of $3,000, thinking it would seal the deal...damn thing went for 8 grand!
