Hi All I'm Dave , I live between Llanelli & carmarthen. Just getting back into the little cubs after a 30 year break. Cant believe how much they have increased in value since I had my last one in the 80's. Just purchased 2 Cubs. one 1988, just needs new springs for front folks, the other is 1989 which Im in the middle of doing up. Well its almost finished just having some teething problems with the bike pulling in air from somewhere. My other bike is a GSX 1250fa. Im looking forward to getting both cubs back on the road where my son in law and myself will put them to some good use.
cheers for now
Dave

Good to be back on the Cub track Dave! :) The magnet effect of those little beasts is just unreal.. I own my Cub since 1991 and it has been one of my life's most wonderful journeys owning it and keeping it up and running to this day. Funny thing is that it is still in its original trim with practically no rust all these years, while I see two year old Made in China rustbuckets all over the place. Yup they are faster and braking properly and telescopic suspensions, injection and all.. but hey.. twenty years from now mine will still be here! ;)

Good luck on your bringing your Cubs up to shape and keep us posted with photos!

Thanks Denner,
Its been such a long time since I had one last, But it all comes back when you start working on them. Ive just got a few niggles on the red 1989 one. Brakes are sticking on, and one minute it will start and the next it does not want to know. the 1988 Blue one, just needs painting and a new set of front springs. Ill sort the springs and put her on the road, she can be painted next year lol. Body is good, just surface rust. The red has been re painted. so wont be long, my son in law cant wait to have a spin. And yes your right, the new ones are going down in value, yours is going up. Thanks for coming back to me. take care.

Nigel Howells is from down your neck of the woods. I think nearly everyone in or around Kidwelly knows him...For one reason or another :o  :?

Hi Bogger, Im just 5 miles from kidwelly. But Im not sure who Nigel is, I would probably recognise him if we bumped in to each other. There are a few guys from the Trimsaran Kidwelly area that are into these little Honda's, Im going to have to find out who they are I think. Would be grand to join a local group.

Ha Ha, I know they say that the welsh man can sing, But I can assure you this one can't. No I heard there are a few older gents that often ride out on their cubs. It would be nice to find out who they are and to join them on their jount's. I believe their from Kidwelly and Trimsaran areas. both are just a few miles from my home.

Knapdog and his merry crew fit that description, but they are a little way from you in Barry.

Still, I expect it's a decent ride down to there.

You can't miss Nige, he'll be the only one wearing a Croc and a wellie on differing feet and turn up in an Espace smelling of chip oil
