New member here bringing an old C50 back to the road
Afternoon all, just signed up today as I am being given a Honda 50 which has been tucked away in my Grandfather's shed since I believe 1985 or so. I do basic servicing on my Vespa at the moment so am just planning to work through re-commissioning the old girl so I can get her back on the road. It was in good working order and almost unused when put away luckily and has been covered with a blanket, unsure yet whether fuel was left in it or not.
This is what I had planned to do, is there anything else I should try prior to attempting to start / or are the Honda's not as picky as the other bikes I've worked with.
Attempt to turn over the engine without spark to ensure it's not seized
Oil change
Filter change
Plug change
Inspect tires inflate / replace
Replace the battery
Drain the petrol and replace with new
WD40 moving cables to make sure nothings so dry it'll snap (perhaps another italian thing)
(Wondering if the following needs to be done up front or just tackled if there are running issues)
Remove the carb bowel and empty any old fuel (I am hoping the jet can be slid out from under like other older Honda carbs when the bowel is off? So I can clean the holes).

Ah the good ole forward facing mirrors it has all its original documents service book and dealer brochure bits bless even a little dealers list book circa '79 apparently insurance was only 16 pounds in 81. Only just over 1700 miles covered hoping to get it running nice a reliably, washed and shiny and significantly upping that mileage with the Honda club and any Cub events I can find
