Hi all
New member here with a couple of questions. My 1988 C90 cub will only reach 35mph. Changed in line fuel filter and that has helped starting but no impact on speed. At full throttle it sometimes hesitates. I took the drain plug off the carb and it looked clean. My next move will be to take carb off and clean ( best place for gasket set? ) Should I change the gearing too? Again any guidance on how / what and where would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi welcome ,throw away the in line fuel filter and check the one under the float chamber on the carb as that is all you need.

If you have persistent problems in that area, you want to look at the condition inside the fuel tank.

Is the choke stuck on?

Thanks for your answers. I think it's running to rich and the choke on may be why. Need to look further into it. Took it out yesterday and with the right tyre pressures the bike reaches 45mph. It hasn't been used very much in the last 2 years. As it warmed up( did 10-15 miles ) although reaching 45 it hesitated on full throttle. This stuttering increased the further I went. Might do the moving cut out on high revs and then test the spark plug. Onwards sand upwards!!

Your answers lie partly in this statement.

I'll bet it will improve the more you use it.

Get it thrashed! :D
