I didn't intend to get a Honda 90
But as I couldn't let it go to scrap I had to have it.
Looking for parts and advice to bring it up to showable condition. Hope you don't mind
Trying pictures for the first time

Are you the same Davros that used to be on Maxi Muppets?
Looks like the first 90 and indeed the first motorbike I ever rode on (as a pillion) back in the early '70s.

I hope you don't mind that I edited the images so they appear.
I've had a couple of 'Beaver Brown' 6v bikes in my time although the last one got pinched (don't worry it's not that one).

Diesel Dave, Thanks for amending the images. What did I do wrong ?
I haven't assessed the bike yet so I don't know what I need.
I want to avoid a total re-spray if possible. Just kill the rust and touch up.
And I'll put the question out there , Where do you get the parts ?

I think you used both the img button from the menu at the top of the text box as well as the picture location that already had the [img] tags on it.Davros wrote:Diesel Dave, Thanks for amending the images. What did I do wrong ?
Before you do anything else, take out the back wheel and have a good wash and brush up inside the rear wheel arch, if it's rusted away under there then it's going to need welding and you need to decide how committed you are to the task. Same for the underside of the swing arm as water can get inside and rust it through.Davros wrote:I haven't assessed the bike yet so I don't know what I need.

I would agree with not stripping off the original paint, Kursust the spots and touch them in - it's far better than painting over rust like most of the 'restorations' I come across
Tricky with a 6v, new rims and spokes are a far better choice than new wheels (not that you could find one for the front of a '72), most of the stuff you will need is generic (battery, bulbs, tyres and tubes, brake shoes), some stuff will need to be second hand but for genuine Honda parts look up the numbers on the CMS.NL diagrams and order them from David Silvers or your local Honda dealer.Davros wrote:And I'll put the question out there , Where do you get the parts ?
What state is the motor in?

I haven't run it yet but I does turn over. The oil was a good colour too. Choke looks like it's rusty. First step is to remove the cowl and look at the carb and plug./spark
Thanks for the advice about the wheels and arch's..one side of the rear looks like its been repaired already
