Just tried to dig my zz out, sorry, too buried! Hopefully someone will have the label under the seat with the info on.

Why not take off a removeable part and take it into Halfords where they can mix up a touch up paint or an aerosol to exactly match your existing paintwork? I've done this with some success before. It's alright having the colour code but your original paint could have faded over the years anyway.

Now that's a good idea ;) (if it works?)

I've done it a few times and it's generally been very good, it's particularly successful with non-metallic colours like the blue on the zz. Even getting genuine touch up paint from a code is a lottery, when paints had 15/20 years to fade it's surprising how much it can change.

A friend here tells me any good car body shop can do this! Good results are of course reliant on good scanning equipment.

Forget the scanning equipment, top class places like Leonard Brookes Successors have amazing ranges of colour swatches, and will find a match.
I got to the zz today, but the paint code label is long gone.
I took the side panels to them, and they mixed paint to match. I have the code, but no guarantee it will match any other bike.
