C90 speeding issues
Whilst riding into my local town which is a 30 zone i kept getting flashed by the radar 30mph sign when i was bang on 30 on my clock, bit strange i thought so I checked with TOM TOM and found that both speeds matched bang on. Now when i drive van my TOMTOM speed always shows 3mph slower than van shows. So either the TOM TOM is acurate and my cub is aswell and the van and radar read low, or the van and radar are correct and my 90 and tomtom are off. Think TOMTOM reads slower on my old mans car too.
Ayway
Does this mean my 90s doing 50 when clock says 47mph!!!!

GPS is always spot on. Cars and vans usually read fast.. they make them that way (10% at high speeds is not unusual)

Indeed Boo. And the radar on the sign is quite likely set a few mph low to ensure that people right near the limit get a warning too. It helps people be aware of their speed.

I think that's right. They just want to scare those who are close to the limit.CeeGee wrote:Indeed Boo. And the radar on the sign is quite likely set a few mph low to ensure that people right near the limit get a warning too. It helps people be aware of their speed.

I doubt you gps will be spot on when climbing or descending Porlock hill or similar, it assumes you are on the flat.
But in general, more accurate than anything else you are likely to get your hands on.

was it one of them ones that show you the speed your doing or just flash 30mph, if it is just the 30mph one then they are a bit stupid. Storytime now this is true, we had a temporary 30mph one that flash you at any speed even if you was doing below 30. So me and my Dad walk up to it one night and ran in the road and it flash 30mph when we was running towards it.

With the exception of Italian ones, of course I had an Aprilia SR50 a while back that once claimed it was doing 60mph when I seriously doubt the heap was even capable of 45. This Vespa I've just got is even better, the precision instrument on that reads 5mph when it's stationery with any reading above 5 simply telling you that it's (probably) movingBoo wrote:GPS is always spot on.
