Hi all I appologise now I've been out with my cub mates for a few beers when I suggested we should ride john o groats to lands end non stop as after our last trip we are getting board ready for a new challange.
A quick google search followed resulting in 873 ish mile?
40 mph average
21.7 ish hrs + fuel stops?
I said under 24 hrs is the target?
25 lt fuel on board with pannier tanks and pumps to feed main tank and one major stop to refuel
Is it possable??
Would anyone like to join for part of the trip to boost morale ?
Any routes to avoid?
Or I'm i blowing 2 stroke oil outa my ass
Cheers

Great. You have 20 hours 58 minutes to beat. Standard 90. 16 tooth front sprocket. Carrying 23.6 litres of fuel. Live tracked. No cheating, no backup. ;)

Very best of luck! Sincerely. If you beat my time, don't expect to hold the title for long. ;)

Just don't stop concentrating and you'll stay between the hedges.

Yes, something like this needs to be done with Chinese engines, and even a 6v. Maybe a defender of the 'sicks volters' who constantly sing their praises might like to step up to the plate?

Boggers eastern Europe adventure on Lifan was a good endorsement for them.

I know how he rides.

Ha yes I could either the Chinese cheese which has had some serious stick for 3 thousand mile and can't fault it or rebuild my 6v engine again which has a 54mm rebore and fast camshaft :-) or a 52.5 home made shorter barrel skimmed head or standard lol,
wouldn't last long that 54 mm I'm sure but did go off the clock for 20mile back from Barmouth before the big end started knocking!
Found two 10 l plastic everyday petrol containers to convert to pannier tanks but getting the heights correct to balance the main tank is trial and error! More cable ties required !!

i had considered this problem with riding a bike and refueling from pannier tanks. bearing in mind i was planning to do a trip like this on an innova that had a fuel gauge, and the solution i came up with was to drill two small holes in the top of the pannier tank, into one, braise a length of tube that goes right down to the bottom of the tank, and in the other braise a short piece in that just extends an inch or so either side. then, onto the one that goes to the bottom, take a length of petrol pipe that will go into your existing tank, that will be used as the refueller, then, the other pipe, put a length of rubber tube onto it with a small hand operated bulb pump, like the sort of thing a dr uses to pump the armband up when taking your blood pressure. fit this bulb pump somewhere accessible, on the handlebar or perhaps on the seat side where you can safely get to it with your left hand whilst driving fill the pannier tanks with fuel and ride till the fuel gauge shows empty, start puping air into the jerry can, the air pressure will force the petrol out of the long tube and into your main tank, when the gauge shows full, press the button on the pump releasing the pressure and stopping the flow. hey presto, with 2 5 gallon panniers you could ride for a couple of thousand miles without stopping!! (ive actually got 2 10 litre aluminium jerrys that are sold as accessories to cossack and ural motorbikes, so with a pair of them plus the standard tank you could probably just about do le-jog in one hit)
