Dual Carriageway
Thought I'd share this with you. This morning I went on the Dual Cariageway on my Cub back home, been wanting to do it for ages and this morning was perfect alright it was raining but not a lot of traffic at 8 in the morning. I have one pride thought that I was not the slowest moving thing on the dual carriageway there was a tractor going the other way.

Nice bit of kit, those FJ's. Have you tried the FJR13?

Re: Dual Carriageway
My mate has a 2005 model, I took it to Fareham for tyres for him last summer. I was riding his previous bike which I bought months earlier, a Blackbird, at that time.
The FJR was very like the Blackie in the low down torque delivery. The fuelling on Steves bike was flawlessly smooth, even without a power commander. I came away very impressed with that bike. The heli bars Steve had fitted made it armchair comfortable whilst maintaining ballistic speeds behind the screen.
Having ridden the ST1300 Pan as well, I'd say that the Pan is more impressive at low speed, and probably cleverer all round. The FJR retains a lot of character and a real grunty bottom end (something modern bikes tend to lack) which makes it a true successor to your FJ.
You still need a Blackbird though. ALL FJ riders need a Blackbird in their lives. No exceptions.
The dual carriageways and motorways of this fair land are, and I'll hear no argument on this, ruled by the Honda Blackbird riders. Only they know it, and that suits fine... they don't want to shout about it or wear power-ranger outfits and fit silly headlamp bulbs. They are happy with the ability to accelerate and run at high speeds with unnerving serenity. When you absolutely have to get there by road in the shortest time possible - accept no substitutes.
I don't miss my Blackie. Not at all... </end rant>
