It's caught me out before, when I first finished the C100 it had the original 3 litre tank fitted and riding around locally and commuting would see 70 miles easily.

Then I headed off for Matlock loaded with camping gear full bore up the big dial carriageway A12 and 45 miles later I ran onto reserve.

Needless to say it now has a 6v C90 tank fitted, it's either 5 litres or 5.5 and I still carry a 1 litre spare bottle when touring.

When I went from Swansea to Hampshire around 25 years ago on my old 70ZZ I managed 105 miles before needing to go on reserve. The tank was original and I also had a heavy load on the bike. I was also flat out all the way.
the main difference between the trip i done and your trip is that Scotland can be very remote, almost third world like. Best to take a can of fuel to be on the safe side. i would not be surprised if mobile phones dont work in the remote areas of scotland
