Stirling to Stuttgart

Post by Nicknack » Thu Oct 16, 2014 10:14 pm

Hi, sad old fart planning vaguely epic mini trek from Scotland to Stuttgart July 2015, with two other donkeys all on C90's, Travelling from Newcastle to Hamsterdam, then on to Stuttgart. Possibly speeding round the Nurnburgring then off to the Porsche museum. Anybody got any recommendations of things to see on this route, or  anything worth seeing on the way. Wondering whether we can stay at youth hostels en route, saves all the camping rubbish. Ten days of fun and games. Let me know any of your thoughts, thanks a bunch. Jules

Research also the Parc Naturel Vosges du Nord. I found their webiste to be very poor but the wooded area would be lovely to ride through and it includes parts of what's left of the Maginot Line which could be of interest. Don't forget to take a tartan scarf to break the ice. In Germany you're bound to be asked what Scotsmen wear under their kilt. Just tell them, straight faced, somewhat similar to what a Geman has in his trousers. Just a bit bigger. Lindsay.
