Is Bert's tea hut still there, it was going to be closed by the city of london corporation, although why they should still have control of the forest is beyond me, probably goes back to highway robbery days.

Well, I went for a short bimble around Epping forest on Sunday, stopping at Connaught Waters, both tea huts, (briefly) then along a few forest roads and back to town along Sewardstone Rd. 45 miles in all. Just to shake the cobwebs off the bike as it hasn't been used for over a month.

Yes, I noticed.
Part of the problem for me is time. I have to be home around 4pm to cook dinner etc. And any rides south of me means any rides that way involve a trundle through London which wastes at least an hour of bimble time.
I don't think an actual round London ride is entirely feasible. Traffic lights to get separated by plus where to park near any land marks would restrict where we could go.

I'd rather drill my own teeth; if I have to travel into the place for work I'm certainly not doing it for fun.RoadCar wrote:I see the London bimble never took off again this year.
I know let's do the north/south circular, or if adventurous the M25 Clockwise so you get to go over the bridge.
For foreign adventures we could try the Paris Peripherique at rush hour.

Dave, Paris Peripherique at rush hour no problem as it is like the M25, at a standstill.

Wasn't the orignal plan to do it on the longest day of the year start early in morning?
