Cheers guys, I may be lucky but I'm usually skint what with trying to keep em all running, so free council tax sounds like a good idea, I'm off to buy a fort

Thanks for this Rob. It brought back a lot of memories,

I started my military career at Sir John Moore barracks, Sandgate, in 1974. Every morning we used to run out of the front gate and down to the beach at Sandgate, along the beach and into the sea with all our gear on. We continued up and down the beach, wet through and then up Hospital Hill back to camp. There is a Martello Tower as you near the top of the hill on the right.

We visited Sandgate last week on the way to Cornwall and I can still run up and down the beach and the Tower is still there. There is no hospital on Hospital Hill, there never was. But if you run up it you can see that some street namer had a sense of humor.

Great to see that someone else tours 2 up on a small bike.

Steve
