I'm not liking the look of the repro stuff at the moment, it all looks poor quality and pretty thin. I'm after a genuine 6v rear end, must be OG although something that needs a repair would be considered.
Anyone?
Regards, Si.

Don't hold your breath on that one :D
Seriously though if you don't want to buy a pattern part you're best bet is to find a vehicle Importer/Breaker like D and K in Stoke with a damaged Cub or CT90 frame of that era.
The UK stuff will all be very poor and if not won't be cheap.
They advertise good frames on the website but email them for an accident damaged one that has a good rear end.
In all honesty some of the pattern stuff seems as thick as the original but probably poorer quality steel.
All i have noticed is the original edge curling is rolled around a steel forming wire the pattern just bent/pressed.
As long as it's welded, prepped, painted and protected it should last as long.
Indicator position might need altering though during the refit if using a USA / AUS one

Thank you very much for the advice. I recently bought the strengthening ribbed panel for the inside of the mudguard, advertised as 1.5mm thick and was disappointed when it arrived and found it was 0.5mm thick at best 😕
