Wanted 12v Round Headlight Euro spec

Hi Everyone
A long shot but I am told by my TUV man ( German MOT tester ) that a beam deflector or a bit of tape is not sufficent when registering my 1982 C70C here in Germany , and so I need a headlamp that dips to the right, which is not so easy as they were never imported here . Maybe somone has one from another european country that did have 12v Cubs . . If not does anyone know of another bike that uses the same headlight that maybe was imported to Germany . If you have a beam deflector in the Uk then I would be very interested and could swap my UK spec one.
Looking at the glass I can't really see anything that indicates which way it dips , the pattern seems symmetrical . My glass is marked as a Stanley ASS11 , X30 at the top , 106 on the left and 00062 18 on the right . Any ideas ?

I don't think the headlamps dip in either direction - check the part numbers on CMS between the UK and US models and see if they differ.

I'm betting there's just the one type.

If you shine it one the wall do you see a pattern showing left?

+1 Looking at the photo that's a "universal" lens. ie it doesn't dip either side.

My ex German xl185 still has its original headlight and like yours dips neither left or right, so that type of headlight was certainly accepted by the TUV as it is by the MOT here

Well thanks for the input , it just shows you live and learn . in all my biking days I have never really looked at a headlight lens so closely and was never aware of a lamp that dips straight down , but then there was never an occasion to check up until now . Maybe its because the lamp is relatively feeble and not likely to blind anyone . Is it the same with all Cubs then ? Anyway thats one thing less to do , onwards and upwards , and I am sure the TUV will still find some nonsense to pick me up on !

I once bought a brand new zx9r import and that dipped the wrong way. Never heard of this issue with a cub though.

When I imported my Tiger from Germany I swapped the headlamps, only to find after fitting then they were asymmetric and didn't need swapping

A bit of creative fettling might be the answer. Like rotating the lens to the silly TUV man's expectations.
