Thanks for that info lads sounds like you have hit the nail on the ED, here is some more information about that there darn lever.
When held on it's side on a flat surface with the boss uppermost the measurement from the
surface is 55mm to the top of the boss which of course not suitable for the lecce start models i hope this information may be useful to others with simular lever problems.

COTTER VALVE OR COLLET WANTED
HELP !!!!!!!
I was just fiddling with my cub 70 head and now it is time to put it all toghetheragain , but one of the cotter valve retainers has gone walkies !!!!!!!!!
